Privacy Policy for MenuCraft
Effective date: September 11, 2026
1. Who is responsible for your data
Summit Intelligence Pte. Ltd. (UEN: 202441229E), a Singapore company that operates as Insight Labs, provides MenuCraft. Our registered office is 152 Beach Road, #23-02 Gateway East, Singapore 189721. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Summit Intelligence Pte. Ltd.
This policy covers personal data we handle through MenuCraft and related support requests. MenuCraft helps you manage kitchen inventory and request recipes and meal suggestions. Contact support@insightlabs.ai for privacy questions or requests. Please identify MenuCraft in your message.
2. Information MenuCraft collects
Account and local session information
MenuCraft assigns an account identifier when you start an anonymous session. The app stores session information on your device so it can restore access. Our service stores the account identifier, setup status, and any display name you choose to provide. Anonymous use does not make your uploaded content anonymous: we associate that content with your account identifier.
You may give us a name, email address, or other contact details when you contact support. The current app does not require an email address for its anonymous account flow.
Photos and kitchen records
When you choose a camera or photo-library feature, MenuCraft processes the photos you submit. These may show food, refrigerators, pantry shelves, or receipts. A photo may also contain incidental information such as a face, address, receipt number, or payment detail. Check the image and remove unnecessary personal information before you submit it.
We store submitted photos, scan status, recognized items, your corrections, and confirmed kitchen records. These records can include food names, quantities, storage locations, dates, and other details about ingredients. The app may create resized copies or image crops to display results.
Preferences, household details, and meal history
MenuCraft stores the information you enter or select about diets, allergies, sensitivities, foods to avoid, cuisines, goals, and protein or calorie targets. You can also enter household member names, adult or child categories, child age ranges, and dietary preferences. Some of this information may reveal health information or beliefs. Provide only information you want the service to use, and only provide another person's information when you have authority to do so.
We also store recipe requests, generated recipes and images, saved or cooked recipe records, feedback, shopping lists, and daily meal suggestions. Notification preferences and your device's timezone may form part of your profile. A timezone is not a GPS location.
Purchase and technical information
Apple processes iOS subscription payments. Through RevenueCat, we receive and process purchase records and subscription status, such as product identifiers, transaction identifiers, renewal or expiry information, and the account identifiers needed to associate access with a user. We do not collect your full payment card details.
Our servers and service providers may process IP addresses, request timestamps, device or app information, error details, and service logs. These help deliver requests, diagnose faults, prevent abuse, and maintain account and purchase access. Processing records may include workflow identifiers, inputs, and results.
3. How we use this information
We use this information to:
- Create and maintain your session and account records.
- Recognize food in submitted photos and let you review the result.
- Store and display your kitchen inventory, recipes, and shopping lists.
- Tailor recipes and meal suggestions to the preferences and household details you provide.
- Validate purchases, restore eligible subscription access, and respond to support requests.
- Investigate errors, protect accounts and the service, and meet legal obligations.
We use MenuCraft content to provide the features you request. We do not use kitchen photos or dietary profiles for targeted advertising. The current MenuCraft app does not integrate advertising or cross-app advertising measurement SDKs.
4. Cloud and AI service providers
MenuCraft sends data to cloud services; photo analysis and recipe generation do not take place solely on your device. The providers involved include:
| Provider | Role and information involved |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Account sessions, database records, submitted photos, and the server functions that process app requests. |
| OpenRouter and underlying AI model providers, including Google and OpenAI | Submitted images and the food, recipe, and preference context needed to generate results. The model used can vary by task and configuration. |
| Cloudflare | Storage and delivery of generated image assets. |
| RevenueCat | Account identifiers, purchase records, and subscription access information. |
| Apple | App Store purchases, payments, refunds, and subscription management under Apple's terms and privacy policy. |
For a recipe request, the context may include ingredients, dietary restrictions, goals, and household categories or age ranges. A photo analysis request includes the image itself. Our current recipe request does not need household names, and our app does not send kitchen photos or dietary profiles to RevenueCat.
Our backend also handles request and workflow records. AI providers may retain request data under the terms and settings that apply to their services. We do not promise zero retention or a blanket exclusion from model training across all providers. Do not submit information you are not comfortable having processed by these services. Contact us if you need more information about a particular request or provider.
We limit disclosure to the information needed for the relevant service. Providers that process personal data on our behalf must protect it under applicable law and their contractual obligations. Apple and other services may also process certain information independently under their own privacy policies.
We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect users and the service from fraud or harm. If the business is transferred, relevant information may pass to the successor subject to applicable privacy requirements. We do not sell MenuCraft personal data.
5. Storage, retention, and deletion
Submitted photos and app records remain on our systems as needed to provide the service. They do not automatically disappear when analysis finishes, when a signed image link expires, or when you uninstall the app. We do not apply a single fixed retention period to every category of data.
Retention and deletion depend on the record's purpose, account state, and applicable legal requirements. Contact us to request deletion or ask which records remain associated with your account. Some purchase, legal, security, and support records may need to remain after an account deletion request. Backup copies and records held by service providers may follow separate deletion schedules.
You can edit profile and household details and remove supported kitchen or shopping-list items in the app. Removal of an item does not necessarily remove its original scan image or technical records.
To request deletion of your account and associated data, email support@insightlabs.ai with the subject “MenuCraft account deletion.” Explain how you use the app and provide enough information for us to locate your account. An email address alone may not identify an anonymous account. We may ask for additional information to verify control of the account. Do not send passwords, session tokens, or full payment card details.
We will assess and respond to requests within the period required by applicable law. We will explain any information we must retain and any limitations that apply to the request. The current app does not provide an in-app account deletion control.
Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate. Cancel an Apple subscription through your Apple Account if you do not want it to renew. See Apple's cancellation instructions.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
You can choose not to submit a photo or optional preference, and you can change camera or photo-library permissions in your device settings. A feature may not work without the information it needs. Removing a permission does not delete information already submitted.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain uses, and receive a portable copy of information. These rights may have legal exceptions. Contact support@insightlabs.ai to exercise a right or ask about a use of your data. We may need to verify your identity before we act.
You can also complain to the privacy regulator that has authority over your case, including Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission where applicable. We will not penalize you for making a privacy request, although deleting data or withdrawing permission needed for a feature may prevent us from providing that feature.
7. Security and international processing
We use account authentication, access restrictions, and encrypted network connections to help protect personal data. No app, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee complete security. Keep your device and any account access information secure.
We operate from Singapore and use service providers that may process information in other countries. Privacy rules in those countries may differ from those where you live. International transfers remain subject to applicable legal requirements. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your data.
8. Children and household information
MenuCraft is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It does not offer accounts for children. An adult may provide limited household details to tailor meal suggestions, including a child's age range or dietary needs. Provide those details only with the necessary authority, and avoid unnecessary identifying information.
If you believe a child submitted personal data directly without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
9. Changes and contact
We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change. For material changes, we will provide notice through an appropriate available channel and seek consent where required by law.
